Feature brief template for UX Design Team
The brief
To create a template for both UX and PM's to align on before kicking off a project.
When
May 2021 (One day project)
Role
UX Team methodologies, documentation
Outcomes
Created a template that is now being widely used for project kickoffs amongst the UX team in Concentra
This was a quick one day project that had a big impact. The UX team at Concentra is still relatively new, and because of this the UX team is often assigned projects with little to no context from key stakeholders, project owners, and project managers. In order to align the team, I created a brief for the lead UX and PM to fill out together (or separately and fill in the blanks together).

This document was created after a brainstorming session with two other Senior UX designers in order to get a feel for what information is needed before we start working on a new feature or project.
Team brainstorming session
During a brainstorming session I facilitated with two other Senior UX designers, we looked at key information we need when starting off a new project. This was categorised in different areas to identify what is most important.
Final template
The above image is the final template that is now widely used amongst the product team when kicking off a new project or feature.
